Emergency Preparedness
Preparedness - Response - Mitigation - Recovery
OUR
The four R's of Emergency Response are:

 Reduction
 Readiness
 Response
Recovery

This framework helps communities and organizations plan
for, deal with, and bounce back from disasters.

The Four Phases

Reduction: Finding and fixing long-term risks
before a disaster happens to lower the damage.

Readiness: Making plans, training people, and
setting up systems so everyone is prepared.

Response: Taking fast action during or right
after an emergency to keep people safe.

Recovery: Working to fix property and help
the community return to normal over time.
Disaster Reduction Strategies

Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), are strategies that utilize proactive planning, structural reinforcement, and financial resilience to minimize the economic and human impacts of natural hazards.

Organizations like the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) emphasize transitioning from reactive disaster response to predictive risk management.
